Maketa Ra Owari is a professional wrestling tag team formed by Maybach Taniguchi and Naomichi Marufuji. The two are former one-time GHC Tag Team Champions and also on the winners of the 2017 Global Tag League. They are the first team to win the Global Tag League as GHC Tag Team Champions.

HistoryEdit

On the February 24 show in Korakuen Hall following Marufuji against Atsushi Kotoge, Maybach Taniguchi came out to shake hands and form a partnership with Marufuji despite their heated past, including Marufuji defeating Taniguchi on the January 9 show via knockout.[1] Following this, the pair were given a title shot against the GHC Tag Team champions Kenoh and Takashi Sugiura set for the April 14 show.

On April 14 Taniguchi and Marufuji defeated Kenoh and Sugiura to win the GHC Tag Team Championship, shortly before the start of the 2017 Global Tag League's beginning.[2] The team took part in the tag league finishing at the top of the block with ten points and ultimately won the final as well by defeating Go Shiozaki and Atsushi Kotoge.[3] With this Marufuji and Taniguchi became the first team to win the Global Tag League as GHC Tag Team Champions. The champion duo was then promptly challenged by a team they lost to in the tournament, Cody Hall and Randy Reign, and on June 4 Marufuji and Taniguchi defeated them in a championship title defense.[4] Their second title defense took place on July 20 defeating Katsuhiko Nakajima and Masa Kitamiya. After the match, the duo was attacked by Kotoge and Shiozaki who made a challenge for the belts. On August 26 Marufuji and Taniguchi lost the titles to Kotoge and Shiozaki.
