Professional wrestling career Edit

After enrolling in the New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) dojo in 2015 with a background in karate, judo and amateur wrestling, Kanemitsu made his professional debut on March 3, 2016, in a loss to Sho Tanaka.[1] Kanemitsu continued to lose most of his matches throughout the early stages of his career, and after losing to Shiro Tomoyose on May 19, he returned to the dojo for further training.[2] Kanemitsu returned to the ring in September 2016 having gained a considerable amount of muscle, first losing to Kenoh on September 1,[3] but finally defeating Hirai Kawato on September 4 for his first professional win.[4] In November 2016, Kanemitsu defeated Kawato six times in a row.[5] In December 2016, it was announced that he had suffered a cervical spine injury and would be out of action indefinitely. He is currently recovering from the injury.[6]
